Reach For The Stars… And Another Productivity Tip

you can do anything if you put your mind to itReach for the stars: You can get it ALL…

Take Five minutes right now to relax your mind and enjoy the song below.

About 2 years ago, I made a decision to only buy CD’s that contain positive messages and CD’s that are uplifting. I want to share a song with you from the most recent CD that I bought because the message inside has really inspired me.

You may not normally listen to this type of music, but keep an open mind because unlike most rap songs, the words in this one actually mean something … and these guys are incredibly talented!

Use This Five Minute Break To Inspire You And Fill You With Energy

I hope this song and the message inspired you a little bit! I recommend that you go to YouTube and find YOUR favorite song to listen to.

It’s important to take breaks in between long periods of continuous activity such as homework or studying.

Since I work on my computer, I utilize this break taking system daily:

1) Focus on one task for 1 ½ to 2 hours

2) Finish up the task (reach a good point to drop everything)

3) Feel a sense of accomplishment for being productive

4) Take a break (listen to music, exercize, eat, read, etc…. Just make sure that you completely let go and relax your mind.)

5) Come back to new task re-energized and with a clear head

** Get work done in 1 ½ to 2 hours stints, focusing on one important task at a time. Then take a short break between 10-30 minutes. This will set you up for another productive 1 ½ to 2 hour stint of focused work…

Combine this with making small lists to plan out your day and take note of the large increase in your productivity!

Yours in Success,

P.S.  I like to listen to music with a positive message, and I try to stay open to all types of music…

I want to hear from you… What music do you normally listen to and were you able to appreciate this song?

  1. Hi Kyle, I’m not sure if it’s because I’m of the “older generation” or maybe it’s the accent I can’t understand – but, I have a real challenge understanding all the words in rap music.

Your suggestions of working for upto 2 hours, then taking a good relaxing break are excellent. I also get a lot more work done by doing that!

Have fun! bye for now, Julieanne

  2. What’s memorable to me with that song is that “what you want in life you can get it.” I’m inspired with the message of this song. It is worth remembering.

  5. Nice message – and yes, I’m also a believer in chunking. I take regular short breaks during the day … often to get outside for a few minutes with my dog. I do prefer quiet however and only occasionally listen to music, though I admit I prefer something a bit mellower, Hawaiian for instance. Thanks!

  7. Great tips Kyle!

I just did that yesterday in the airport. I bought a new book and told myself I had to complete this one small piece of a project before I could “crack it open”. I spent an hour on the task and was very pleased with the results.

Another singer I would recommend for positive messages is Jana Stanfield. One of my favorites is “What Would I do Today if I Were Brave?”

  8. I enjoyed your message of taking a break and re-energize. Thanks, thanks, thanks. That is the most difficult part for me. I have to keep it in mind and follow your suggestion.

  9. This sounds great. I am going to give it a try. I usually go about my day, doing small bits of everything and do not complete much of anything. This may be just what I needed!

  10. Nice tips, I cannot control my self to combine the two different tasks to finish it more quickly but as I discovered that my output is not that good so I decided to focus on one task first before the other. It helps me well.

  11. I get almost all the lyrics. Maybe cause I spend so much time trying to hear the lyrics to Latin Music, I’be become an astute listener. One refrain “Reach out and grab that star!” is very positive. I think it is so great that you committed to listening to only positive CD’s. The message in this music is SO POSITIVE! Wow, what a world it would be if ALL our youth thought that songs like this with lyrics like this were COOL! Around the 2 minute mark “A shift in consciousness means the planet will grow!”

    Thanks,

    Jupiter Jim

  12. Kyle,

This is a great way to maximize your productivity during the day. I use a system similar to this so I know just how much a system like this can work.

Everyone is different though so it’s important to find one that fits them best.

    Thanks for the tip!
